West Coast Silver (ASX: WCE) has extended and defined a broad near-surface silver zone with diamond drilling at its high-grade Elizabeth Hill project in Western Australia.
The holes infilled and extended the mineralisation at the Elizabeth Hill North target, confirming broad zones of low to moderate-grade silver within, below, north, and west of the current mineral resource estimate (MRE) block model.
The mineralisation is hosted in intensely silica-altered granite and quartz-carbonate veins within the regional Munni Munni Fault Zone (MMFZ) that could potentially add volume and contained metal to the MRE.
Best intersections were 67.1 metres at 19 grams per tonne silver from surface extending west of the MRE, including internal higher-grade zones of 12.3m at 22g/t silver from 24.7m and 10.9m at 24g/t silver from 43.9m.
Further significant intersections grading more than 10g/t silver were 48.5m at 19g/t from 1.5m including 25.5m at 23g/t from 16m; and 24m at 14g/t from 35.5m including 2.7m at 22g/t from 35.5m.
Minor Silver Mineralisation
At Elizabeth Hill Deeps, minor (less than 10g/t) silver mineralisation was constrained the northern extent of a new high-grade zone that remains open to the east and south.
The minor intersection is though to align with a subvertical northwest trending fault splaying off the MMFZ and is interpreted to have caused pronounced step-wise changes in depth along the granite-ultramafic contact in the area.
West Coast is investigating the potential role of the fault splay as a structural control on the Elizabeth Hill Deeps mineralised zone.
Final diamond assays are expected by the end of August, with results feeding into an updated MRE and scoping study, both scheduled to commenc ein Q4 2026.
Extended Project Footprint
Executive director Sergei Smolonogov said drilling confirmed that silver mineralisation at Elizabeth Hill extends beyond the historical underground mine.
“When combined with reverse circulation results from earlier this year, the footprint of lower-grade mineralisation north and west of the existing MRE has been expanded and infilled but not closed out,” he said.
“This shows that a significant volume of lower-grade mineralisation is zoned about higher-grade silver, increasing the potential for additional contained silver at lower grades.”
“We look forward to releasing the final three holes from the diamond drilling program in the next few weeks, and a start on the update of the current MRE as soon as possible.”
