Tivan (ASX: TVN) has returned broad intersections of high-grade fluorite from Stage 2 drilling at its 100%-owned Sandover fluorite project in the Northern Territory, strengthening its case for resource-focused follow-up work.
The 58-hole reverse circulation program covering 5,884 metres across seven reefs intersected fluorite mineralisation in every hole, with Reefs A, C, and E emerging as the priority vein systems for further drilling.
Standout results included 18m at 25.1% calcium fluoride (CaF2) from 30m including 7m at 54.9% CaF2, alongside 17m at 19.9% CaF2 and 21m at 14.5% CaF2 from separate areas.
Mineralisation remains open along strike and at depth, with Tivan planning an Exploration Target and a Stage 3 program aimed at supporting the potential definition of a maiden mineral resource estimate.
The Sandover work forms part of Tivan's strategy to become a long-term producer of acid-grade fluorspar, alongside planned development of its Speewah fluorite project in Western Australia, where it is progressing a definitive feasibility study.
Three Reefs to Lead Follow-Up
Reef C delivered the standout broad intersection and remains open in both directions along strike and at depth, prompting Tivan to rank it among the three priority systems for future resource-focused drilling.
At Reef E, all 14 Stage 2 holes intersected a steeply dipping fluorite-quartz-barite vein, with the mineralised intervals averaging about 8.9m downhole at 20.5% CaF2 across approximately 750m of tested strike.
The program's highest-grade interval also came from Reef E at 3m grading 74.3% CaF2 from 28m, while a significant proportion of the interpreted strike extent remains untested.
Reef A drilling tested about 800m of strike and confirmed continuity of high-grade mineralisation, while results from Reefs I and J were generally narrower and lower grade, leading Tivan to prioritise its stronger-performing systems.
Exploration Target Definition
Tivan will combine the Stage 2 results with surface mapping, geochemical sampling and magnetic survey data to update its geological model, constrain vein geometry and continuity and support definition of an Exploration Target before further drilling.
Stage 3 is planned to focus on resource definition through RC and diamond drilling, with the objective of generating sufficient information to support a potential maiden MRE at Sandover.
A preliminary review of mineral composition also supported Tivan's earlier view that the material could potentially produce acid-grade fluorspar, with initial metallurgical test work planned using available drill samples to assess whether an on-specification product can be prepared.
