TG Metals (ASX: TG6) has hit thick intervals of gold in its maiden drilling program at the Gold City prospect in Western Australia.
Reverse circulation drilling conducted with a truck mounted Hydco-Moses rig intersected multiple lodes with untested potential at depth and along strike at the prospect, 90 kilometres from Hyden in WA's wheatbelt region.
Highlight gold hits included 15 metres at 1.48 grams per tonne including 5m at 2.69g/t, and 3m at 8.49g/t including 1.0m at 17.67g/t, with most holes intersecting multiple gold zones and mineralisation open in all directions.
Recent 80% Acquisition
TG Metals entered into a sales and purchase agreement in March this year to acquire 80% of the Van Uden gold project, which includes the Gold City prospect, where previous exploration drilling defined extensive and shallow mineralisation.
The initial drilling tested an area of historical workings in the southern portion of Gold City to provide further information on the geological understanding in a structurally complex area.
The company is now planning to complete down-hole telemetry in the new Gold City holes to help identify the structural controls on gold mineralisation, and will also conduct further infill soil sampling in the coming weeks to add to the current database.
Assays are still pending for several holes at Van Uden, where drilling is ongoing and will begin work on extensional targets before year end.
Historical Gold Workings
“These are great results for our first drilling at Gold City,” chief executive officer David Selfe said.
“Wide zones and multiple hits down-hole indicate a very fertile environment for gold deposition, [and] the drilling also confirms an apparent north-easterly plunge to the general mineralisation that is in line with the findings from the recent infill soil sampling."
"We have only completed shallow drilling at Gold City so far and there is much more work to do to define the extent of the gold mineralisation, but already it is looking very promising as a satellite operation to Van Uden," he added.
