Sky Metals (ASX: SKY) has continued to demonstrate the significant growth potential of the Tallebung tin-tungsten-silver project in New South Wales, after its latest diamond drilling campaign returned shallow high-grade assays.
The depth, width, and grade of intercepts reinforced the continuity and quality of the mineralisation, adding further data to expand the substantial mineralised system already established at the project.
The company reported a best assay of 17 metres at 0.70% tin, 0.03% tungsten trioxide and 14.8 grams per tonne silver from 26m including 4m at 2.44% tin, 0.06% tungsten trioxide and 28g/t silver from 28m.
Drilling identified significant mineralised positions which were not previously included in the mineral resource estimate.
These included 9m at 0.54% tin, 0.14% tungsten trioxide and 205g/t silver from 67m including 1m at 2.45% tin and 1.11% tungsten trioxide from 75m, and 1m at 5.45% tungsten trioxide and 0.08% tin from 66m.
Reverse Circulation Campaign
The diamond drilling results precede a major new reverse circulation program of more than 150 holes at Tallebung to systematically test opportunities for additional resource growth and support future potential mine life extensions.
The scale of the program is expected to provide Sky with a significant opportunity to test how much additional mineralisation can be defined beyond the resource base used in recent development studies.
The discovery of further shallow mineralisation has the potential to provide additional development optionality through resource growth and mine life extensions, subject to successful drilling, resource estimation, and mine planning.
Sky also reported visual observations of coarse tungsten in two diamond holes, with managing director Oliver Davies saying that it highlighted the potential for tungsten to become an “increasingly important part of the Tallebung story”.
Drill-Testing Theirman Mines
Sky is preparing to drill test the Theirman Mines prospect, where recent surface sampling returned grades of up to 7.44% tungsten trioxide and confirmed more than 500m of prospective strike across at least two mineralised trends.
The results validated historical high-grade sampling from the area, rapidly advancing Theirman to drill-ready status.
Importantly, Theirman Mines represents a new, high-grade exploration opportunity, rather than just an extension or analogue of the Tallebung deposit.
Sitting approximately 20 kilometres from Tallebung, its location provides a significant operational advantage for Sky by allowing it to use exploration personnel, contractors, and infrastructure already operating in the area.
