Resonance Health (ASX: RHT) has entered into a strategic alliance and master services agreement with UK clinical research organisation (CRO) Image Analysis focused on high-growth indications such as obesity and metabolic disease.
Under the terms of the initial 24-month deal, Resonance’s specialised quantitative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) body composition endpoints will be incorporated into Image’s global clinical trial strategies and proposals.
The suite of regulatory-cleared software-as-medical-device (SaMD) services will become orderable endpoints delivered through Image’s Dynamika AI-enabled cloud imaging platform for multi-modality clinical trials.
In return, Image’s overseas customers (including global pharmaceutical company sponsors) will gain Australian service delivery through any of Resonance’s business units including SaMD services, TrialsWest clinical trial sites and Australian clinical trial advisory businesses.
High-Growth Indications
Image Analysis is a London-based organisation supporting more than 700 clinical trials across oncology, musculoskeletal, autoimmune, metabolic, rare disease and neurological indications.
Its proprietary Dynamika platform provides cloud-based data collection, quality control and central review of imaging data allowing users to unlock early efficacies, robust safety insights and transparency across stakeholders to accelerate product development and maximise trial success.
The strategic alliance targets high-growth indications including obesity and metabolic disease (including visceral and subcutaneous adipose tissue, liver fat and muscle mass and quality), iron overload disorders, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis and steatotic liver disease.
The partnership offers Resonance global distribution into Image’s established worldwide sponsor base and growth pipeline without the cost of building equivalent international business development infrastructure.
It also complements Resonance’s research and development pipeline including a new non-invasive MRI liver fibrosis device, which is currently undergoing an extended proof-of-concept trial.
Expanding Market Reach
Resonance chief executive officer Andrew Harrison said the agreement would expand the reach of the company’s SaMD technologies.
“Our regulatory-cleared endpoints will become available to Image’s global sponsor network while Image’s clients gain access to our Australian clinical trial infrastructure and specialised quantitative MRI capabilities,” he said.
“Together, we can address more of the biomarker assessments increasingly demanded by the next generation of clinical trials as our portfolio expands from iron and liver fat to non-invasive liver fibrosis, body composition, and muscle quality.”
