Red Sky Energy (ASX: ROG) is moving closer to the start of a three-well drilling campaign at the Innamincka Dome, with civil works for the Yarrow 4 and Yarrow 5 dual-well pad nearing completion.
Subject to operational scheduling, weather conditions, and access windows, the Santos (ASX: STO)-operated program is expected to begin with Yarrow 4 towards the end of August 2026, followed immediately by Yarrow 5.
Red Sky holds a 20% working interest in the wells, which form the next phase of activity at the producing Yarrow field following the tie-in and commissioning of Yarrow 1 in November 2025.
Access approvals have also been received for the Willowie 2 appraisal well, where civil works are expected to start in the second half of August ahead of an estimated mid-October spud.
Yarrow Program Nears Drilling
Earthworks at the Yarrow site were delayed by consistent rainfall across the Innamincka region, but the dual-well pad is now approaching completion as the campaign moves towards drilling.
The two-well development program follows Red Sky’s execution of a binding Authority for Expenditure (AFE) with Santos in April, covering Yarrow 4 and Yarrow 5.
Yarrow 1 and Yarrow 3 are already producing gas and liquids into the Santos-operated gathering system, providing an established production base at the field ahead of the new wells.
“With civil works at Yarrow nearing completion and access approvals now in hand for Willowie 2, the program is progressing towards spud on all three wells over the coming months,” managing director Andrew Knox said.
“We look forward to Santos advancing the campaign and building on the production performance already established at Yarrow.”
Willowie Appraisal Moving Forward
Willowie 2 is located on the same structural trend as Yarrow, and will target the Patchawarra and Tirrawarra formations, with the well expected to be connected to existing Santos-operated infrastructure if successful.
The appraisal well is covered by a separate binding AFE executed with Santos in April and follows the receipt of access approvals needed to progress site works.
Civil works at Willowie are expected to commence during the second half of August, providing a lead-in to the planned mid-October drilling date.
The timing has been advised to Red Sky by Santos as operator and remains subject to change depending on weather, access windows and operational scheduling.
20% Working Interest
Red Sky holds its 20% working interest across six areas within the Santos-operated Innamincka Dome Joint Venture in the Cooper Basin.
The existing gas-gathering, pipeline, and processing network connects production from the area directly to the Moomba facility, reducing well development costs and time to first production.
The current program combines development drilling at the producing Yarrow field with appraisal drilling at Willowie, giving Red Sky exposure to additional activity across both fields within its Innamincka Dome position.
Yarrow 4 is now the nearest operational milestone, with Yarrow 5 expected to follow before the focus shifts to Willowie 2 later in the year.
