Pureprofile (ASX: PPL) has posted record first-quarter revenue of $18.3 million for the three months to 30 September, an increase of 14% on the corresponding period last year.
EBITDA climbed 27% to $2.4m, lifting the underlying margin by one percentage point to 13%, with the data and insights group also recording a 108% surge in platform revenue to $8.8m, meaning technology-enabled services accounted for almost half its total sales.
Growth in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) reached 21%, while Pureprofile maintained its FY27 revenue guidance of $72m to $75m and an EBITDA margin target of 11% to 12%.
Pureprofile expects FY27 revenue growth of approximately 11% to 15%, assuming broadly unchanged global macroeconomic conditions and continued regional growth, automation, and cost discipline.
Platform Revenue Growth
Platform sales represented about 48% of group revenue during the quarter, compared with 26% a year earlier, reflecting growing demand for automated data delivery.
Pureprofile attributed the increase to more application programming interface integrations and wider adoption of its scalable technology offerings.
ANZ revenue rose to $9.6m as both project volumes and average revenue per project increased across a broad client base.
The recently acquired qualitative research business CRNRSTONE—which was rebranded Pureprofile Qual during the quarter—contributed approximately five percentage points to ANZ growth.
International operations, reported as rest of world (ROW), generated $8.7m in revenue, up 7% as reported or 16% at constant exchange rates.
Slight Currency Headwinds
Currency translation reduced reported ROW revenue by approximately $0.7m, reflecting the group’s exposure to US dollar and British pound income.
Although international project volumes increased, their growth moderated against earlier periods and average revenue per project remained broadly stable at constant currency.
Operating expenses increased about 10%, below the 14% revenue gain, helping EBITDA grow faster than sales and supporting the improved margin.
Client numbers rose by 38 to 1,035, while rolling 12-month annuity revenue reached $16.9m, up from $16.7m at the end of June.
Over the six years from the first quarter of FY21, Pureprofile recorded compound annual growth of approximately 22% in revenue and 20% in EBITDA.
US and UK Expansion
“Pureprofile has made a strong start to FY27, with another record revenue quarter […] and EBITDA up 27% on pcp, demonstrating operating leverage,” chief executive officer Martin Filz said.
“Platform revenue more than doubled, while ANZ delivered broad-based growth of 21%, [and] our FY27 financial guidance is for revenue of 11-15% on the pcp and an EBITDA margin of 11%–12% (previously 10%).”
“Our priorities remain growing US and UK market share, improving productivity and margins, and pursuing disciplined investment, primarily in the US, to build shareholder value.”
The company has also extended a $2.5m bank loan facility to November 2029 on improved terms, reducing the annual line fee from 4.20% to 2.85% before interest.
