Neila Creek Site Visit Takeaways and What’s Ahead for Golden Globe's Gold Projects

Key points

  • Neila Creek: 2 holes done, 3rd underway; assays pending.

  • Porphyry target in Lachlan Fold Belt; NSW.

  • Site visit impressions: momentum, clarity on Neila Creek.

Golden Globe Resources (ASX: GGR) recently hosted a site visit to its Neila Creek project, giving brokers and investors a first-hand look at the company’s priorities on the ground and the progress being made across the portfolio.

While I wasn’t present for the visit itself, I caught up with Golden Globe Resources managing director Colin McMillan yesterday for a wide-ranging discussion that unpacked the objectives of the trip, what attendees saw on site, and how management is thinking about Neila Creek from here.

James Whelan: Colin McMillan of Golden Globe Resources joining us from on site I believe it is, how are you now?

Colin McMillan: I’m very well thank you James, how are you?

JW: Not so bad actually, just managed to grab a few minutes so that I could talk to you and it's great that I've got the chance to have a chat to you about this. Now, do want to give us a quick update on how the project is going?

CM: Yeah, the project is steaming ahead. We've completed two holes. We're on our third hole at Neila Creek. This is our New South Wales project—elephant country hunt. We're looking for porphyries and we're well and truly underway.

JW: Great to hear. And the gold price taking a bit of a hockey stick on the upward side as well with recent events seeming to be going in the direction that favours the gold price. So, are you pretty happy with the way that the underlying is going?

CM: We couldn't be happier, to be honest. Everything seems to be falling into place, not just gold, but copper as well of course. We're onto what we believe could be something quite significant here at Neila Creek.

JW: I believe there might just be. You just recently had a site visit out there, a few brokers, few people. What sort of types did you have out there and what was the main takeaway?

CM: Yeah, we did indeed do what we promised to do three or four months ago and that is when we got the drilling underway at Neila Creek we would take our lead managers from Sydney and the Orange office guys out to site. So, we did that.

We had five people show up, gave them a very comprehensive overview, taught them all about diamond drilling in the Lachlan Fold Belt and the big takeaway was How soon can we get assay results? Obviously, that's what everything hinges on.

So, I'm pleased to say hole one is at the assay lab, hole two is being cut right now and being delivered to the lab. And we've started logging hole three. So, we are well and truly underway.

JW: That is some absolutely outstanding news. And I'm trying to think, feels as if the IPO was only 10 minutes ago and here you are already with results about to come out. Some great news.

So, any really good positive feedback from the guys that were out there on site?

CM: They loved it. Look, to be honest, they thought, okay, Waratah’s just up the road from us. They were saying, we've got a lot of overflow interest from Waratah. You guys hurry up and get some runs on the board and we'll help you out.

So yeah, very happy with what they're seeing. We were happy with what we showed them. So very good.

JW: Okay, so it's positive from on-site. You've got assay results right on the horizon and core coming out right now, which is great. And you've got a favourable gold price as the tailwind behind you as well. It can't all be positive. There's got to be some bad news in there, Colin.

CM: Well, I'm waiting for it to happen, but you know we've had no issue whatsoever with the drilling. We haven't even dropped core, we've not mucked up with any of the drill program, we've left no trace behind us where we've been drilling. The local landholders couldn't be happier than they are and in fact they've been out to site.

JW: That's good to know and always good to have an update from you. Colin McMillan, MD and CEO of Golden Globe Resources, cheers for that.

CM: Thanks, James.

Pre‑IPO, Colin said Golden Globe would waste no time getting to work—and he’s backed that up.

Drills are turning, samples are heading to the lab and the brokers have now seen Neila Creek with their own eyes. No drama, no surprises, just progress.

The Gold Whisperer’s done his bit.

Now the assays get their say.
