Memphasys (ASX: MEM) has expanded the commercial footprint of its Felix System through a three-year exclusive distribution agreement with specialist fertility supplier INVIDO LAB s.r.o. covering the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Kazakhstan.
The agreement carries minimum contracted purchases of €416,200, equivalent to approximately A$674,000, with annual commitments increasing as adoption develops across the three territories.
The three markets represent approximately 89,600 assisted reproductive technology (ART) cycles across the relevant reported periods, giving Felix exposure to established fertility-treatment markets.
The expansion comes as Memphasys strengthens its European commercial team to support INVIDO and its wider distributor network in building clinic adoption and recurring cartridge revenue.
The company has appointed Arne Schierau as its director of commercial operations in Europe to work directly with commercial partners, IVF clinics, and industry stakeholders across the region.
Recurring Revenue Agreement
INVIDO has exclusive rights to distribute Felix cartridges and consoles across the contracted territories, subject to agreed minimum purchase commitments and other commercial performance requirements.
Minimum purchases are set at €86,000 (A$139,000) in Year 1, rising to €138,600 (A$225,000) in Year 2 and €191,600 (A$310,000) in Year 3.
Felix cartridges are single-use products, giving Memphasys the potential to generate recurring consumables revenue as the installed base of systems and utilisation at participating clinics increase.
INVIDO will lead commercial development using its existing relationships with fertility clinics, embryologists, and specialists, while Memphasys will provide market development, product training, and ongoing commercial and technical support.
Expanded European Capability
The Czech Republic has 48 ART centres that performed approximately 54,300 ART cycles in 2023, while Slovakia recorded 8,288 ART cycles in 2024, representing a 25% increase from 2022.
Kazakhstan has 31 ART clinics and recorded 27,012 ART cycles in 2021, alongside 7,000 publicly funded fertility treatment quotas available annually through a government-supported program.
“We are doing exactly what we set out to do—expanding our footprint, getting Felix into more IVF clinics, and building a growing base of recurring cartridge revenue,” chair of the Memphasys Commercialisation Committee Marjan Mikel said.
“This agreement adds three markets and about A$674,000 in minimum contracted purchases, supported by our newly employed European commercial leader.”
Standardised IVF Process
The Felix System uses electrophoresis and size-exclusion membranes to isolate viable sperm cells for human assisted reproduction through a fast and standardised selection process.
Memphasys positions the technology as an alternative to traditional centrifugation, which it says can cause cellular stress and DNA damage during sperm preparation.
Its commercial strategy centres on building contracted sales through direct and distribution-led channels while increasing production scale and expanding the recurring revenue base associated with disposable cartridges.
Memphasys is also in advanced discussions with potential commercial partners across priority international markets as it continues expanding the global commercial footprint of Felix.
