Marmota Begins Stage 2 Drilling at Greenewood as High-Grade Gold System Moves Toward Resource Definition

Marmota (ASX: MEU) has commenced Stage 2 reverse circulation drilling at its Greenewood gold discovery in South Australia’s Gawler Craton, just weeks after unveiling what the company described as some of the best gold grades reported in the region since Challenger’s discovery in 1995.

The new program comprises about 85 holes for roughly 8,500 metres, with a mix of extensional and infill drilling to continue through November and December to support the first resource estimate for Greenewood.

Marmota said it had already made strong early progress on site, with the drilling crew achieving more than 350m per day as activity ramps up.

Building on Exceptional Stage 1 Results

The program follows Marmota’s maiden campaign, which returned a series of standout intersections including 4m at 43 grams per tonne gold from 64m, 4m at 38g/t from 24m, and 28m at 6.4g/t from 44m, alongside a broad suite of additional thick, high-grade intercepts.

The company said these results demonstrated excellent continuity along strike, near-surface geometry, and multiple high-grade zones extending across the emerging system.

The area had seen only about 7,000m of drilling prior to Marmota’s 2025 program, marking the current campaign as the first substantial modern work since 2018.

The first detailed 1m splits from Stage 1 mineralised intervals will be the next assays to arrive, which will help refine the company’s structural and grade interpretation ahead of resource modelling.

Strategic Position Within the Gawler Gold Arc

Greenewood lies about 35km northwest of Marmota’s Aurora Tank gold deposit and 30km northeast of the Challenger mine, positioning the discovery within the company’s broader “arc of gold” trend across the north-west Gawler Craton.

Deposits along this arc — including Aurora Tank, Golf Bore, Campfire Bore, Greenewood, and Mainwood — sit along the flanks of a major gravity anomaly that has historically hosted significant mineralisation.

Marmota sees Greenewood’s proximity to Aurora Tank offering clear operational and cost efficiencies as the company advances its regional development concept.

Marmota has deliberately structured the Stage 2 program to deliver the geological inputs needed to move Greenewood into its first formal resource category.

Ongoing exploration across the Gawler Craton continues to reinforce the district’s potential and underpins the company’s strategy to develop a multi-deposit gold portfolio anchored by Aurora Tank and the emerging Greenewood discovery.
