Kincora Copper (ASX: KCC) will launch a sole-funded exploration campaign across four New South Wales projects, with more than 25,000 metres of air-core drilling planned over the coming spring and summer field season.

The copper-gold explorer has approved a budget of up to A$3 million for about 340 holes targeting 17 priority areas across Nyngan West, Fairholme, Cowal East, and Trundle.

The campaign is designed to advance geological concepts at relatively low cost before committing to deeper drilling, while complementing Kincora’s hybrid prospect generator model under which asset-level partners fund most exploration expenditure.

Kincora expects the programs to add scale and value to its wholly owned portfolio while helping rank projects and targets competing for future capital, resources and larger exploration programs.

NSW Drilling Program

Nyngan West will receive maiden drilling across porphyry targets interpreted as potential extensions of the Junee-Narromine Belt of the Macquarie Arc, along with testing of a separate magnetic and gravity anomaly considered prospective for critical minerals.

At Fairholme, Kincora plans to extend the structurally controlled gold and base metals system at the Gateway target beyond its current 1.6-kilometre strike, advance the adjacent Dungarvan target, and undertake follow-up work across three northern porphyry copper targets.

Kincora will test Cowal East with a series of drill lines across six targets, stepping out from two known systems and assessing regionally significant geophysical anomalies following gravity work completed earlier this year.

Very shallow drilling at Trundle will cover about 19km² across the project’s northern, southern, and Dunns areas, targeting prospective mineralised intrusion centres within the interpreted western rift of the Northparkes Igneous Complex.

Cost-Effective Testing

“These programs are designed to quickly and cost effectively test and advance our geological concepts, add scale and value, and position the highest-priority opportunities for larger-scale exploration,” chief executive officer Sam Spring said.

“With partner-funded drilling by AngloGold Ashanti continuing, management fee income being generated and further proceeds expected from the US$10 million divestment of our Mongolian portfolio, Kincora is well positioned to fund these programs while continuing to grow our net cash position and pursue new growth opportunities.”

Kincora has begun a formal process with potential new asset-level partners for several advanced and brownfield porphyry projects, with the sole-funded campaign intended to run alongside those discussions rather than replace its partner-backed exploration strategy.

At Condobolin, full assays remain pending from a completed nine-hole, 2,615m program, with Kincora proposing an independent review to test its Reduced Intrusion System interpretation and refine any follow-up work.

The company’s review of new opportunities where it has a competitive advantage is ongoing, including its recent claim extensions of targets at the Fairholme and Cowal East projects.
