++Green Critical Minerals (ASX: GCM)++ has secured a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Komex Carbon Corporation to deliver VHD (very high density) graphite products into South Korea’s technology, electronics and industrial markets.
The 36-month binding deal will establish a non-exclusive collaboration to jointly develop end-user products based on VHD technology and underpin negotiations on sales contracts.
Following China’s recent declaration of its intention to remain a global leader in manufacturing and technology, Green Critical believes its VHD technology can become a sought-after product in the region’s various markets.
Thermal Management Alternative
VHD blocks provide a low-cost, high-performance thermal management alternative to conventional materials such as aluminum and copper for use in heat-sinks, heat spreaders and cold plates.
Green Critical has been advancing its VHD technology across various testing environments to prove it can deliver superior thermal performance while being effective, energy efficient, and easily-customised to meet specific end-user requirements.
The company remains focused on moving towards commercial readiness before year end, and is continuing its discussions with various international and domestic parties.
First International Agreement
Managing director Clinton Booth said the MoU represented Green Critical’s first international customer agreement.
“This is another significant step in the commercialisation of VHD—one which allows us to partner with a reputable company and continues to build confidence in achieving our first revenue target in the new year,” he said.
“Komex has built an excellent reputation in South Korea for quality and reliability, and we look forward to working with the team to deliver on our commercialisation strategy and strengthen engagement across our global pipeline of potential customers and partners.”
Competitive Advantage for VHD
South Korea is a leading global manufacturing hub with a focus on innovation and the use of advanced materials in the technology, electronics, and industrial sectors.
Komex president Dr Kyusik Suh said the company had identified a competitive advantage in adding VHD blocks to the range of products offered to these sectors.
“We see great potential in VHD technology, and believe it will provide a good opportunity for the Korean technology and industrial markets.” he said.
“Based on this MoU, we look forward to both companies collaborating to achieve positive results.”
