Golden Globe Resources Commences Extensive Drilling Program at Dooloo Creek Gold-Copper Project

Golden Globe Resources (ASX: GGR) has commenced drilling at the historical Dooloo Creek gold and copper project in south-east Queensland.

Well-funded after its recent $8.5 million initial public offer (IPO), the company has mobilised drilling crews to Dooloo Creek after securing land access and completing all required site arrangements.

The program, to be undertaken by contractors from Central Deep Hole Drilling with a multi-purpose rig at depths of up to 500m per hole, marks a major step in following up high-grade rock chip samples and multiple geophysical and structural targets.

Comprehensive Re-Assessment

Golden Globe completed a comprehensive re-assessment of Dooloo Creek – integrating geophysical, geochemical, and structural datasets – following its last round of drilling in 2021.

The work confirmed that the project forms part of a larger intrusive complex with clear indicators of gold and copper mineralisation across several zones.

This integrated model underpins the current drill design and supports the company’s broader objective of advancing district-scale targets.

The new drilling will feature a four-hole diamond program across 2,000m, along with an eight-hole reverse circulation (RC) program over a similar distance.

Chief executive officer Colin McMillan said the program reflects “an exciting return to GGR’s exploration activities” and will focus on testing the high-grade outcrops sampled during the 2020–21 field program.

Three Priority Prospects

Diamond drilling has now begun at three priority prospects: Northern Gold, Eastern Breccia, and True Blue.

Drilling at Northern Gold will test coincident magnetic, induced polarisation, and structural features associated with earlier surface sampling that showed elevated gold and associated indicator elements including bismuth, molybdenum, copper, and arsenic.

The Eastern Breccia prospect will see drilling into a 50m zone of anomalous sulphides within altered volcaniclastics, supported by geochemical signatures suggesting potential gold and copper mineralisation.

True Blue will be drilled to investigate combined geophysical anomalies and mapped alteration consistent with an intrusive-related and epithermal overprint.

The company will also conduct RC drilling at the Silver Plain target to follow up intersections averaging more than 3.86 grams per tonne gold, as well as test beneath a previously undrilled outcrop.
