BMC Minerals (ASX: BMC) has expanded the area of known mineralisation at the Rhyolite Peak silver-zinc-gold-copper-lead target within its wholly owned Kudz Ze Kayah project in Canada.

Located approximately 1,200 metres from the same contiguous area as the company’s proposed ABM mine, the prospect was initially identified in soil geochemistry and airborne survey data coincident with the inferred along-strike trend of the ABM Horizon.

Several targets along this trend were tested by BCM during scout drilling programs in 2018 and 2024, which intersected a shallow dipping zone of high-grade stratiform massive sulphide mineralisation that remained open down-dip and along strike.

The company commenced drilling again at Rhyolite Peak in early August, reporting that mineralisation in new diamond core appeared visually consistent with mineralised core intervals returned in earlier campaigns.

Fifteen holes for a total 18,000m of BMC’s planned 20,000m drilling program for this year have now been completed at the Kudz Ze Kayah property.

Significant DD Intervals

Assays from nine diamond drill (DD) holes returned significant intervals including 7.4m at 179 grams per tonne silver, 6.9% zinc, 1.1g/t gold, 0.6% copper, and 1.2% lead from 30m, and 5.2m at 233g/t silver, 9% zinc, 1.7g/t gold, 0.4% copper, and 2.6% lead from 57.7m.

Managing director Michael McClelland said it was early days in defining the extent of the mineralisation at Rhyolite Peak.

“Our focus on this target appears to be well-founded and, with the proximity to the ABM mine and mill, we believe this area has the potential to make a positive impact on Kudz Ze Kayah,” he said.

“Each massive sulphide intercept we return gives us greater conviction that this zone will continue to grow.”

“Our exploration team is continuing to implement large and detailed property scale field programs to feed the target pipeline for the coming years.”

Other Promising Targets

BMC Minerals continues to test promising targets in the Fuego, Krakatoa, and ABM areas nearby to Rhyolite Peak.

Two DD holes passed through massive sulphides of the ABM deposit in a deep test beneath it, however the results were not considered material as they sat within the existing ABM ore reserves envelope.

Drilling at the GP4F target was aimed at extending the mineralised zone to the west and down dip, with one of the holes confirming a modest 50m extension of mineralisation to the west of previous intersections.

BMC has also embarked on a set of complementary studies including high-resolution magnetics, ground gravity, and detailed structural mapping in outcrop and diamond drill core.

The company will use this to aid in its interpretation of detailed bedrock geology, and potentially identify high-density massive sulphide mineralisation.
