  • Board reshuffle; McIntyre to retire as NED.

  • Nine months as CEO; milestones delivered.

Alligator Energy (ASX: AGE) has appointed chief executive officer Andrea Marsland-Smith to the additional role of managing director, effective immediately.

The move comes as part of a board restructuring that also includes the planned retirement of long-serving non-executive director Peter McIntyre.

The company said the dual appointment recognises Dr Marsland-Smith’s leadership across its project portfolio while streamlining governance and operational decision-making as it advances its strategy.

Leadership Consolidation

Dr Marsland-Smith stepped into the chief executive officer role approximately nine months ago after previously serving as chief operating officer.

The board said combining the CEO and managing director roles reflects her delivery of key milestones and positions the company to operate more efficiently as it progresses its development plans.

Chair Paul Dickson congratulated Ms Marsland-Smith on her appointment.

“Over the past nine months, she has demonstrated exceptional capability and leadership as CEO, delivering strong strategic and operational progress,” he said.

“The board believes this appointment is both well-deserved and appropriate as we continue to execute our plans.”

Board Transition Underway

Mr McIntyre has advised the board of his intention to retire after more than 12 years as a non-executive director.

He will remain on the board through completion of the Field Recovery Trial at the Samphire uranium project, which the company considers a key milestone.

The board acknowledged Mr McIntyre’s long-standing contribution as both a director and shareholder, including support during early capital raises.

“We are particularly pleased that Peter will remain with us through the completion of the Samphire field recovery trial, and we look forward to continuing to benefit from his counsel during this important phase,” Mr Dickson added.

“All at Alligator wish Peter well in his retirement.”
